Public Comment Needed from All Counties
Submit public comments by August 15, 2025 in support of the current homeschool regulations. The Maryland State Department of Education is performing a review of six chapters of Title 13A, including the chapters on Nonpublic Schools (13.A.09) and Home Instruction (13.A.10). This is part of a mandatory review that has been required for all of Maryland’s regulating agencies over an 8-year period. The evaluation will result in a report made by the MSDE to the Maryland General Assembly.
Charles County School District Threatens Homeschool Families
Homeschool families in Charles County received an unpleasant surprise: a letter demanding they register their students online. MACHE and HSLDA are watching this closely and are here to help defend homeschool freedom in Maryland.
