Filing Your Homeschool Notification Form

Filing Your Homeschool Notification Form

Notification

Maryland law requires that a homeschooling notification form be submitted once for each child, 15 days before beginning the child’s homeschool program.

This form should be sent via certified mail with return receipt requested to the superintendent of your school district.

The homeschooling notification form only needs to be filed once, when you start homeschooling your child. For each subsequent year of home education, you will provide verification of home education.

Connecting with Your County

Your Homeschool Notification form should be filed directly with your county school district.

Please Note: Some Maryland counties use an intent to homeschool form that requires more information than the Maryland homeschool law requires. In most cases, you should insist on using an intent to homeschool form provided for our MACHE members or from your HSLDA membership rather than a form created by the county. MACHE members receive an HSLDA group discount.
